Our Story
We began roasting coffee beans in our garage in 2013 with an everyday popcorn popper. Frustrated with the same coffee chains offering the same products while cutting corners, we wanted something better. We started sharing our coffee with those around us, and as word spread, we eventually upgraded to a larger roaster to keep up with demand. That’s when Banyan Coffee was born!
Our approach to coffee is simple: we use ethically sourced specialty coffee and deliver it fresh. We hand-select high-grade beans so you can enjoy a great cup of coffee every day. Our heart is for farmers to have sustainable practices and improved living conditions that’s why we choose ethically sourced coffees.
We also take pride in freshness, pledging to ship your coffee as fresh as possible. For the best experience, we recommend whole beans to keep the flavor longer and enjoying them within a few weeks of purchase. Freshness is the key to deliciousness!

Banyan Coffee Experience
At our Palmetto coffee shop, we wanted to create a welcoming environment for everyone. Specialty coffee culture can often feel intimidating, so we felt our mobile coffee truck could offer a more approachable and comfortable vibe. After two years of serving coffee from the truck, we decided to build a coffee shop and roastery to meet the growing demand and provide a daily coffee experience.
As you grab a cup of coffee, we invite you to explore a more intimate side of Banyan Coffee. You can watch the coffee roasting process firsthand and gain an appreciation for the care and effort that goes into every cup. By the end of your visit, we hope you’ll understand why Banyan Coffee is unique and special compared to other coffee shops. We are one of the few in the area that roasts our own coffee, ensuring it’s the freshest you’ll find in Manatee and Sarasota Counties.

We started to shared our coffee with anyone around us and eventually we upgraded to larger size coffee roaster so we could keep up with demand. Banyan Coffee was Born!
Our approach to coffee is simple we use “single origin coffee” and deliver our coffee fresh. Single origin coffee tends to come from one farm or a co-op in a region. Coffee in its truest form provides an abundance of flavors. Typically blended and flavored coffees are a lower quality bean that lack the true flavors of the origin in which they come from. We pride ourselves on fresh coffee. We recommend a whole bean to keep freshness longer and consuming our product within a few weeks of purchase. Freshness is the key!
