Inspiring Conversations with Josh Schmitt of Banyan Coffee Company
Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Schmitt.
Hi josh, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Coffee roasting really started as a hobby for us. We loved learning about coffee, experimenting with roasting and sharing it with friends and family. We never imagined it would eventually turn into what Banyan Coffee is today.
Over time, that hobby just kept growing. What started small has become a café, roastery, and wholesale business, and it’s really become part of our family’s life. Our 10-year-old son has started helping out, and our daughter is slowly getting involved too, which has been really fun to see.
We’ve always carried the vision for Banyan but we give a lot of credit to the people who have helped us along the way, especially our staff. Banyan wouldn’t be what it is today without their hard work and the way they’ve embraced what we’re trying to build.
There was never some big master plan. We’ve simply kept taking the next step, learning as we go and trying to build something we’re proud of with good people around us.
